After deploying the access role in your AWS account, we will create a Hosted Zone in Route 53 for your Braid deployment. This Hosted Zone will have a domain like braid.example.com.
Once it's created, we will send you a message with the NS (Name Server) records that you need to add to your domain's settings.
Steps to Update Your DNS
- Log in to the website where you registered your domain.
- Seelct the main domain.
- Add a new NS record:
- Record Name:
braid
- Record Type:
NS
- Value: Paste the NS records we sent you (exactly as provided).
- Record Name:
After you've added the record, let us know. We will monitor the domain to confirm the setup is correct. Once verified, we will proceed with deploying Braid in your AWS infrastructure.
WHY
Setting up a dedicated subdomain for Braid ensures a structured and scalable DNS configuration. This approach provides:
-
Consistent Access to Braid Resources: By using a single subdomain (braid.example.com), all related services and endpoints will have predictable, well-organized URLs.
-
Future Expandability: As we introduce new features, we can easily add new DNS records under the same subdomain without requiring additional setup from your end.
-
Simplified Management: Keeping all Braid-related DNS configurations in a single Hosted Zone allows us to efficiently manage updates, security, and configurations without interfering with your existing domain settings.
By setting up this subdomain, we ensure a seamless and scalable experience for your Braid deployment.
